Statement

In 1975, my family's beach trip unexpectedly led to our evacuation from Vietnam during the Fall of Saigon. This was a pivotal event that shaped our lives and influenced my creative exploration of existential themes.

Combining digital photography with natural and ready-made objects, my work fuses the reality of nature with imaginative interpretation. I create an 'innerverse' that sparks contemplation about our existence, the structure of the cosmos, life, and whether our experiences arise from random circumstances or a grand design. Reflecting on the mysteries of the universe, I ponder how the insignificance of atoms bonding gives rise to galaxies and how a left turn away from the beach towards a military base altered our lives' trajectory in profound ways.

In my art, I strive to evoke awe, wonder, and a deeper connection to our shared existence within the vastness of the universe.
