Statement
During dynastic China, emperors of each dynasty believed their rule and supremacy were mandates from heaven. And in turn each offspring inherited this mandate so long as they keep peace and balance in the kingdom and in harmony with Nature. In return, Nature provides fruitful abundance for the kingdom. Similar form of power by hereditary lineage were prevalent in other kingdoms.
Nature governs all. The belief that one's power and legitimacy to rule over others rested on the interpretations of stars and planetary alignments and orbits. Civilizations looked to the heaven for answers and to guide their fate in an orderly fashion. They understood any attempts to circumvent, displeased or disrupt what is preordained in the heavens or in heredity only invite chaos.
